MESSENGERS OF GOD’S PRESENCE
The Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, Archangels, invites us to rejoice in God’s loving care for His people. In today’s Gospel, Jesus promises Nathanael that he will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man. The Archangels remind us that heaven is not distant from us: God is continually at work, guiding, protecting, healing, and leading His people towards salvation.
Each Archangel reveals something of God’s loving action. Michael reminds us that God strengthens us in the struggle against evil; Gabriel announces God’s saving message and invites us to listen with faith; Raphael reminds us of God’s healing and guidance along life’s journey. Their witness encourages us to trust more deeply in God, to remain faithful in times of struggle, to listen attentively to His Word, and to become messengers of hope and goodness to those around us.
As we celebrate the holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, may we become more aware of God’s presence and more willing to serve His purposes in our daily lives.
